Merry Christmas & Happy New Year D.A!

Christmas was fantastic this year, I got to cook a lot and decorate and get everything ready for the holiday--and I'm tired right out!

I haven't had the chance to sit down and make some more polymer clay things due to the holidays but I suspect that will change, soon. Someone (who is awesome beyond years) purchased a package of beautiful bright polymer Sculpey clay pack from my amazon wish list for me, and I've been quietly eye balling it up with ideas over Christmas.

I'm looking forward to bringing more cute to you and hope you're looking forward to seeing it!

I love you guys for your comments, your favorites, your critiques and yes--even your oddness--Even before and after Christmas and not just on Christmas.

I hope your Holidays were wonderful and your new year beyond splendid!

I can haz Etsy shop? I can!
Sorry guys about the double-posted journal! Changing Journal skins. Forgive me?

...Ear?

Polymer clay & Polymer clay jewelry making has literally devoured my soul and I cannot truly express how pleased I am by it!

For a very long time I have dawdled between digital art and photography; finding myself struggling to really do anything I felt was any good. And as much as I might get flak for it? When I make a cute set of cat-earrings or a flower pendant, or a silly little chibi out of clay...There's a certain satisfaction I get out of seeing something finished by my hands that I've been lacking with photography and digital drawing.

Not to say that I will quit them, just that I think for the longest time I've been focusing on the wrong genre of art!

I'd made so much stuff out of clay--making myself one set of earrings and then making friends and family and finding I had left overs, I decided to make an Etsy shop.

I opened my Etsy shop in September and since then have had a modest and very exciting 10 sales. I am so proud and flattered that friends and strangers have decided to invest and purchase products made by me.

I think my triumph is only shadowed a little by the fact that I wish that I could also sell my polymer clay creations through Deviant Art as well, despite the fact that in the years here I have yet to make one--I figure it is because I never found my niche (and subsequently, an audience or buyer base, if you will, for the things I make.)

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that despite the fact my journal is updated rarely (because it's really difficult sometimes coming up with what I want to talk about and feature!) I am, by no means, dead and still here, watching your art and reading your stuff!

And hey, since I've just gushed about it for 203920392032 paragraphs, why not visit my Etsy Shop, too?

Celebrating Polymer clay: addiction is fun!

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 18, 2009, 6:46 AM

It's a beautiful clay!
If you hadn't noticed already via my gallery I have stumbled head-long into the wonderful world of polymer clay.

So much so that I now have a jewelry box growing steadily full of charms, earrings and other creations and have had the joy of sending a few of them off to some friends. I've even opened an Etsy shop! I can't quite tell you the sensation, the pride, and the happiness shaping something with my hands has felt like.

It's completely different from when I draw something--and the end result tends to be different as well.

Half of what I've done could not have been accomplished without Deviant Art. Everywhere I looked for polymer clay tutorials to get me started? Seriously lacking. When I checked out the tutorials here at D.A. I was utterly amazed at them all; the detail, the secrets given away and the wonderful instructions. I've had the chance to make some amazingly cute stuff and learn more in one sitting from D.A. than anywhere else.

So to celebrate the world of polymer clay, I dedicate this journal to all my favorite creations & tutorials about it!

It's another Year of RIGHTEOUSNESS.

HAPPY FRAKKIN 9TH DA!
It's another year of wonderful, awesomeness that is this community, Deviant Art.

I'm not really adoring of this site for page views, for comments (though its always nice)--no, I'm not even in it for the hot man chest although that is a kickin' rad addition.

I'm here because Deviant Art, to me, is the best means for me to connect to the artists and art I love. To speak to fellow artists and to learn. To me, Deviant Art and joining it has sent me on a long wonderful spiral of learning and teaching myself, all thanks to amazing fellow artists who look out for us newbs by sharing their insights, art, tutorials and advice.

So here's to you, Deviant Art. For the laughter, the frustration, the mud kipz, the lols, the tears, the overwhelming love and support--here's to D.A. Community. Without ya'll, it's just a pretty gathering of code after all.

July is Flash Fiction Month and I am going to--

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 30, 2009, 5:32 AM
That's how I roll.

July is Flashfiction month here at D.A. and I am going to annoy you greatly.

I am late in whoring this fantastic bit of writing practice out and for that, dear D.A., I apologize. This month is Flashfiction month here at D.A.

Curious? Take a gander at this: Flashfiction Month and the people over at Flash-Fic-Month will be helping those of us trying it out. If that's not enough, there's a chat for use here: #FlashFictionMonth.

It looks like I am going to be posting something everyday. Consider this your warning!

Hello D.A, here I am!

I have returned, by airplane several days ago, to my home here in Florida. Not only did I make it home safe (obviously) but I am now totally married! In a legal sense! I have papers that tell my husband he has to feed me and everything!

Oh! Canada!

To celebrate my time away in Canada, I thought I'd showcase some of the art work and photographs from fellow Canadians, from places within Canada, and all about Canadadeliciousness in honor of my country of birth. Enjoy!
