This is a rework of an image I drew last year. You can find the original version here: [link]

The character is Jodiah Ayreg, the player I don't know what happened to. Eaten by sewer alligators some time last year I think, or maybe a roving band of midgets. Since I had permission to draw their character originally, I didn't think they minded if I made the awful horrid first one, better.

Thanks goes to: ~TheCatlady and ~SLWatson for their suggestions and critiques which made this picture much better.

I cheated when it came to the hair, background and the fabric of the Jacket alone. I used fabric texture brushes and a hair brush. HOWEVER, everything else is drawn by hand and LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. EPAULETS CAN GO SUCK MONKEY DONG.

The second badge he is wearing, a green dragon eating it's own tail with gold swirlies in the middle? That is the emblem of Rhilshen and I do not claim it is mine. It belongs to Alysia Sky, creator and Empress of Rhilshen-may she live forever. Hopefully, she won't eat me for borrowing an emblem :D

I'm sure I am missing a lot of details, but as some of you know, drawing and/or patience are not virtues I possess. I have been working on the pic for three days so far, and have reached the point where I am skeered of messing it up more by fiddling with it more. So for now, I am leaving it as is and giving my bleeding eyeballs a rest. If you see something snaggilytoofed about it, tell me!

My character used to secretly nick-name his Lord Grumpypants.

Cheating or not, I do love the background. It's very... him. There's very little way else for me to try to convey that.

I adore it, and, as I told you when you finished the original, you've managed to capture the essence of all that is Ayreg with that expression, and the sunken look of his features.

I do love what you've done with the decorations on the jacket :3

there's only one thing I'd suggest, and that would be to use less white light, because it looks slightly unnatural =)

The first image was horrid. This one is a little better. I'll probably visit it again a year or two down the road as I improve. I don't think a lot of what I draw does justice to the character(s) themselves, each time I learn something new is a step closer to drawing something better.

I dunno why you're thanking me, all I did was sketch someone else's creativity. Characters wouldn't have enough of a spark to be captured if it wasn't for the players behind them. :)

Thank you very much. The decorations of the jacket were actually the easiest thing for me.

As for your suggestion for light--what colors do you recommend for a more softer, natural feel? Yellows, reds, blues or purples? (Very light I'd imagine).

I think it simply depends on what color your light source is ^^
most often in real life, light is yellow (for example, from non-fluorescent lightbulbs, and sometimes the sun...)

and I think yellow would be nice in this case, since your background's blue =)
